Website Design for Latter-day Teen Magazine
A website is a great way to establish a homebase for your business. Your website is the platform where you can sell to customers without competition, and process the fulfillment of goods and services. Creating a user-friendly, navigable website for your audience is crucial for any business looking to expand their online presence.
I design the layouts for the publication Latter-day Teen Magazine, and the editors also asked me to design a website for their magazine. The website would act as a landing page to attract new subscribers, sell past issues in a shop, and also answer frequently asked questions about advertising, submissions, subscriptions, etc. The website needed to be user-friendly and easy to navigate on both desktop and mobile devices.
To start, I laid out all the internal pages of the website, include landing pages for About/Meet the Team, Advertising, Submissions, and Subscriptions. I also created individual product pages for each of the available subscription lengths with custom graphics to represent the quantity included in each subscription. After uploading all the photos from their brand photoshoot, the site was starting to come together!
Some of the finishing touches on the site include banner images, image links, and updated custom graphics to represent different options. I’ve been offering regular website maintenance to update the site when their team sends me changes or when we need to update wording as each new issue goes out. Using Squarespace for their website design has made it super easy to hop in and update things really quickly, saving all of us time!
On a mobile device, the website is just as legible as on a bigger screen. Squarespace automatically resizes and reshuffles website content to looks its best on whatever size screen is being used to view the site, and Emily & Jenn’s images and content look great on both as well!
It’s very gratifying to be able to work on multiple aspects of a branded project, and for this business, I actually had a hand in their logo, website, AND their regular publication! It’s fun to be such a big part of the production of each element of their brand.
